Renault's connected services: My Renault app, openR link, easy link, R-LINK. Sellers delete the car in My Renault, factory reset the multimedia system and tell Renault. Only one My Renault account can be linked at a time, and Renault recommends buyers reset the system too.
Bought it used: remove the previous owner
- Reset the system and link your accountBuyer
My Renault app → Vehicle icon → Add a vehicleRenault's UK terms recommend a new owner resets the system to erase data left in the car and checks the VIN is in their My Renault garage. Renault says only one My Renault account can be connected to a car at a time.
Renault's data page says the seller's link to the VIN is kept until they delete the car or it's paired with another My Renault account. For a used ZOE with R-LINK, Renault says to call Customer Support with your proof of purchase.
Selling: unlink and wipe
- Delete the car from My RenaultIn the app
My Renault app → Vehicle icon → Your car → Delete → Reason → ConfirmRenault's UK FAQ says this removes the car from your account. The terms say to delete the car and declare it sold so the car is no longer synced with your account.
The terms also say to tell Renault Customer Relations about the sale, deactivate Plug&Charge, and tell the buyer the car may show its position in My Renault.
- Delete your profile and factory resetopenR link
Vehicle universe → Settings → System → Reset options → Factory reset → ResetRenault UK's openR link FAQ says to delete your profile and reset the multimedia system to factory settings before you sell.
First delete your profile: notification centre → your profile → wheel icon (top right). The factory reset must be done from the administrator account.
- Factory reseteasy link
Menu → Info → System → ResetRenault UK's easy link FAQ says to remove the car from My Renault first, then restore factory settings to delete your personal data.
R-LINK cars: Menu → System → right arrow → return to initial settings icon. Renault says this deletes destinations, radio presets and paired Bluetooth devices.
Privacy and offline settings
- ConnectivityopenR link
Vehicle universe → Settings → Network and Internet → ConnectivityRenault UK says you can deactivate data collection here to stop connected services temporarily. You can also refuse data collection when you change profile.
- Dataeasy link
Settings → System → Device management → DataRenault UK says you can deactivate data collection here at any time, or refuse it in the message shown when you start the car.
R-LINK Evolution: Main menu → Services → Settings → Data sharing.
Good to know
- Renault's terms say a seller should tell the buyer that the remaining time on the car's connected services can be seen in their My Renault contracts area.
Not found in Renault's public UK documents: Which models have openR link, easy link or R-LINK (Renault's FAQs don't say), and a buyer route if the seller didn't delete the car. Menu paths can differ by model and software version; each one here is for the version its source names.
