Peugeot: previous owners, selling, and privacy settings
Last checked: 12 Oct 2026
Peugeot's connected services: MyPeugeot app, PEUGEOT Connect ONE and Connect PLUS. Sellers use "Change of Owner" (My Garage → Remove Vehicle) and delete in-car profiles. Each profile can be set to Private Mode.
Bought it used? Peugeot's UK documents don't describe how a buyer removes a previous owner. Ask the seller to unlink the car using the steps below, or contact Peugeot.
Selling: unlink and wipe
- Change of OwnerWebsite
Connected services website → MY GARAGE → Remove VehiclePeugeot's UK Connect ONE terms say this stops the services, disassociates the car from your account and removes it from your garage. If you skip it, subscriptions may continue to apply and be charged.
Follow the verification steps it guides you through. The terms also say to make sure your account is no longer linked to the car; an in-app path in MyPeugeot isn't documented.
- Delete profiles and reset (2008, 2025 on)2008 (2025 on)
Settings → Profile → Select profile → [Bin icon]Delete each profile. The Guest profile can't be deleted but can be reset. You can also reset the system configuration under Settings → System.
The terms say the seller must make sure all personal data stored in the car is deleted. Older 2008s (2020–23): Connect Radio: Settings → Configuration → System configuration → Factory settings; Connect Nav: Settings → OPTIONS → System settings → Factory settings.
Privacy and offline settings
- Privacy Settings2008 (2025 on)
Settings → Connectivity → Privacy SettingsSet each profile to "Sharing Data and Location", "Sharing Data" (everything except location) or "Private Mode", which Peugeot says doesn't let the car transmit personal data outside the vehicle. The Guest profile is set to Private Mode by default.
You can also swipe down from the top of the screen and use the privacy button. The modes don't apply to emergency calling or services you've signed up to, such as Connected Alarm. Peugeot's terms say a location-off setting is ignored if a theft is confirmed.
Good to know
- Peugeot's UK terms say only one customer at a time can pair a car, and a new owner can subscribe once the previous owner's subscription has ended. Stellantis's UK data protection contact is [email protected].
- The terms say the head unit may show "Branded Pins" and "Sponsored Searches", which you can switch off in the head unit's settings.
Not found in Peugeot's public UK documents: A route for a buyer whose seller didn't remove the car, the MyPeugeot app path for removing a car, and the head-unit path for switching off Branded Pins. Only the 2008's handbooks were checked. Menu paths can differ by model and software version; each one here is for the version its source names.
