Jaguar Land Rover: previous owners, selling, and privacy settings

Jaguar Land Rover's connected services: InControl (My InControl website, InControl Remote app), Pivi and Pivi Pro. Sellers remove the car on the My InControl website and delete in-car profiles. Buyers check the overhead console and set up their own InControl account.
Bought it used: remove the previous owner

Overhead console → SOS and spanner lightsIf the SOS light is on but the spanner light isn't, create your own InControl account on the owner website. If only the spanner light is on, contact a retailer.
Land Rover says InControl services transfer to the new owner for the rest of the subscription term once they complete account set-up.
Selling: unlink and wipe

My InControl website → Vehicle Settings → Remove VehicleRemoves the car from your InControl account. Land Rover says to do this when you sell, trade in or privately transfer the car.
In the InControl Remote app: Account → My Vehicles, then select the car to remove; or Vehicle Settings → Remove Vehicle.
- Delete profiles in the carPivi / Pivi Pro
Settings → All → Profile SettingsDelete each Pivi or Pivi Pro profile. Also sign out of every account linked to the car, and clear search history in Navigation settings and Live settings.

Settings → All → ResetLand Rover's Pivi FAQ lists this as the way to reset your personal data in the car.
Good to know
- Removing the car doesn't delete your InControl account. Once no cars are linked, you can delete it from My Account → Remove Account.
