Built-in far-field microphone
No TV micThis model has no built-in far-field microphone — voice control goes through the remote.
LG's product information sheet for the 55UQ81009LB, and the EU product information sheets for all seven sizes, say "Voice recognition sensor available: No". LG's German and Austrian spec pages list no microphone in the TV. LG Austria says the set comes with the MR22 Magic Remote, so voice control works by speaking into the remote.

SupportedThis model is still receiving firmware/platform updates.
What that actually means for your TV →
LG Germany's support page for the 55UQ81009LB lists software version 04.60.90, dated 12 Aug 2026 (and 04.60.85, 17 Jun 2026). LG gives no end date for this model. The EU product information sheets promise software and firmware updates for at least 8 years after the model stops being sold. Checked 2 Nov 2026.
Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI
Has ACRThis model has LG's ACR feature (branded "Live Plus"), which analyses on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.
What ACR is and how to turn it off →
LG's 12 Sep 2026 statement covers LG smart TVs in general, not this model. It says ACR is off by default and runs only once you accept the Viewing Information Agreement.
Looks for other devices on your home network
Looks for devicesLG says this TV looks for compatible devices on your home network, for features like connecting to them, and doesn't describe a setting that turns this off. To keep it away from your other devices, you can put the TV on a separate guest network.
How to put a TV on its own network →
LG says its smart TVs use device discovery to find compatible devices on your home network, such as set-top boxes, games consoles and smart home devices, and that this information isn't used for advertising (statement, 12 Sep 2026). LG doesn't describe a setting that turns it off. A 2026 Gamers Nexus test on an LG G3 found the TV repeatedly contacting other devices on the network even with no agreements accepted. Whether the list of devices is sent to LG hasn't been shown publicly.
