Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Runs ACR

This model runs Panasonic's ACR feature (branded "Automatic Content Recognition"), which analyzes on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

This model runs Fire TV, and Amazon's own official Automatic Content Recognition help page — not Panasonic's — describes the feature directly: when enabled, it fingerprints content "through connected devices, such as a cable set-top-box" (not just Amazon's own apps) by sampling audio or pixels and matching against a database, and can be managed at Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Automatic Content Recognition. Amazon's page doesn't state whether it's on by default. Enabling it on one Fire TV device doesn't enable it on others.

What that actually means for your TV →

Panasonic's UK and Ireland firmware page names all three Z95BEB models and lists RS8166/3485, dated 24 March 2026, as the latest update checked for this catalogue entry.
