Built-in far-field microphone

Has mic

This model has a built-in far-field microphone, which is the hardware hands-free voice control uses.

What a far-field mic does →

Panasonic's UK specifications for all five TV-…Z90BEB sizes give Alexa as "Y (Hands-free)", and its February 2026 UK line-up announcement says "Panasonic TV Premium with Fire TV", which the Z90B has, brings far-field voice control from across the room. But the product information sheets for all five sizes say "Voice recognition sensor available: No". Where the maker's own specifications and the EU product information sheet differ, this site follows the maker's specifications.

Amazon's UK FAQ says smart TVs with Fire TV can send Amazon information on your use of broadcast live TV received through the TV's aerial inputs, and that you can opt out here.

From Amazon's UK privacy FAQ (checked 19 Oct 2026). It doesn't give the switch's exact name.

Interest-based AdsAds continue, less personalised
Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Interest-based Ads

Tells apps that use the device's advertising ID not to use it to build ad profiles or show you interest-based ads. Ads continue.

Amazon's privacy FAQ covers Fire TV devices from other brands too. Same path in the UK and US.

No setting to turn them off is documented. Amazon's Fire TV privacy FAQ describes Interest-based Ads as telling apps that use the device's advertising ID not to use it to build ad profiles or target interest-based ads; it doesn't say the ads stop.

These settings cover ads in the TV's own menus, not ads inside individual apps. Menus can change with software updates, so check again after your TV updates.
