Amazon Ember Artline (2026)

QLED · Fire TV · 55, 65″

Built-in far-field microphone

Has mic

This model has a built-in far-field microphone, which is the hardware hands-free voice control uses.

What a far-field mic does →

Amazon's product page lists "Voice support: Yes, hands-free with Alexa" and a microphone off switch "that electronically disconnects the microphones". Amazon's Fire TV device specification page lists "Mic: Bottom 2x2 Mic Array", although its far-field row says hands-free control is "Supported only through linked Echo device".

Automatic content recognition (ACR), including over HDMI

Has ACR

This model has Amazon's ACR feature (branded "Automatic Content Recognition"), which analyzes on-screen content — including over HDMI — to identify what's playing.

What ACR is and how to turn it off →

Amazon's help page says that when ACR is enabled on a Fire TV smart TV, Amazon identifies what you watch through connected devices such as a cable box, and that it is managed at Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Automatic Content Recognition. Amazon doesn't say whether it is on by default. Enabling it on one Fire TV device doesn't enable it on others.

Ads in the TV's own menus

Personalisation only

Fire TV shows ads in its own menus. They can't be turned off, but the settings below change how they're personalised.

Security vulnerabilities in Fire TV

Supported

This model is still receiving firmware/platform updates.

What that actually means for your TV →

Amazon's Software Security Updates page lists the Amazon Ember Artline 55-inch and 65-inch with security updates until at least 31 December 2030, or at least four years from purchase if bought new from Amazon, whichever is later. Amazon says this isn't a guarantee of how long the device will last.

ACR settings: Fire TV (Amazon's TVs and Fire TV models from other brands)

Automatic Content Recognition
Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Automatic Content Recognition

Turn it off to stop ACR on content from connected devices such as cable boxes. Amazon says this doesn't change whether you see ads, though they may be more repetitive.

Documented on Amazon's US help pages only.

Broadcast Live TV Data (UK)
Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings

Amazon's UK FAQ says smart TVs with Fire TV can send Amazon information on your use of broadcast live TV received through the TV's aerial inputs, and that you can opt out here.

From Amazon's UK privacy FAQ (checked 19 Oct 2026). It doesn't give the switch's exact name.

Ad settings: Fire TV (Amazon's TVs and Fire TV models from other brands)

Interest-based AdsAds continue, less personalised
Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Interest-based Ads

Tells apps that use the device's advertising ID not to use it to build ad profiles or show you interest-based ads. Ads continue.

Amazon's privacy FAQ covers Fire TV devices from other brands too. Same path in the UK and US.

No setting to turn them off is documented. Amazon's Fire TV privacy FAQ describes Interest-based Ads as telling apps that use the device's advertising ID not to use it to build ad profiles or target interest-based ads; it doesn't say the ads stop.

These settings cover ads in the TV's own menus, not ads inside individual apps. Menus can change with software updates, so check again after your TV updates.
